Beginning of Summer Fun

We had a very fun summer!  The boys and I stayed busy enough.  We tried to balance camps and activities with swimming and just hanging out.

The moms group that I attend weekly during the school year hosted several activities over the summer.  Luckily, the open gym at Cheer Zone fell right after the school year ended and on a cool and rainy morning.  It was a perfect way to spend our morning.

We took our neighbor friend, Sophia along with us.

We spent a lot of time (when our strange summer weather permitted) at Island Bay Yacht Club.  In June and July, they planned different themed weeks, like pirates, Olympics, western, carnival, etc.  The boys had fun playing the games during adult swim time.

We also enjoyed playing in our backyard.
Kieran still loves his pirate water table.

Chasing and popping bubbles from the bubble machine

On one afternoon after VBS, we enjoyed swimming with our friends, the Burgins.  Caden and Cole love hanging out with Mason and Mitchell.

Our littlest guy grew up a lot this summer!
We potty-trained him at the beginning of June without much trouble. He was ready!

Our first boat outing happened on the first day of summer (if I'm remembering correctly).

We squeezed in a few visits to Chuck E. Cheese's.

Caden attended his first overnight church camp with his friend, Ryan.  They had a great time at Lake Springfield Baptist Camp.  Caden cannot wait to stay longer next summer.

We visited several parks and spent a lot of time outside together.

We made many visits to the library.
Kieran always enjoys looking at the Scooby Doo chapter books.

Cole took two weeks of swim lessons with lifeguard Hannah at Island Bay Yacht Club.  He went a total of eight times for thirty minutes each session.  The sessions were private, which allowed for Cole to make a ton of progress very quickly.  After the first few days, Cole was already swimming the length of the pool!  We were impressed and so proud!

Jumping off the lifeguard stand, a treat reserved for swim lessons

Cole's progress board--He's on the top line.  There is one blank square for getting a weight off the bottom of the deep end (10-12 feet deep).  He was not able to pass that skill at his last lesson.  Hannah pulled him over one quiet evening at the pool and he passed it!

These were some of our summer highlights before 4th of July.  During this time, Caden and Cole also played tball/baseball, went to VBS, and attended a soccer camp.
