October is always full of fun. Here are the highlights...
Curt and I went to a Pearl Jam concert in St. Louis at the beginning of October. It was an AWESOME show! They played nearly nonstop for three hours. Our seats were perfect. It took a while for our hearing to recover, but it was totally worth it. Thanks to Aunt Mariah for babysitting the boys, so we could enjoyed an unbelievable night out!
Cole lost another tooth...at school, of course.
Kieran helped me run the Titan Store at GES. Students earn Titan tickets for good behavior, and then they redeem the tickets for various prizes every two weeks.
We visited a new pumpkin patch called Pumpkin Creek Farms with Nana, Papa, Aunt Shannon, Uncle Josh, Grammy, and Aunt Mariah. We really enjoyed all of their activities. There was a corn maze, haystack mountain, tube slides, swings, barrel train, corn and bean tables, pedal tractors, hay ride, and pumpkin patch (of course). They also had yummy snacks, like apple donuts and apple cider.

We found all of the checkpoints in the corn maze. |
We celebrated Aunt Shannon and Uncle Josh's wedding with a cake made by Nana.
Kieran exhausted from something. I tend to wear him out when we run errands together.
Our deck and screened-in porch project started! Kieran is the official project supervisor.

They decorated mini pumpkins. Cole said his pumpkin was a sumo wrestler. |

Washington Park's Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular is one of my favorite Springfield events. We ate dinner at Smashburger, dessert at Cherry Berry, and then made it to the Spectacular at opening. It was still light when we arrived, but it didn't take long for it to get dark. The boys posed with some of their favorite jack-o-lanterns.

Cole was student-of-the-week in October. He was able to bring something for show and tell everyday, and I joined him for lunch on one of the days.

Caden's Science Fair project compared three different microwave popcorn brands on their percentage of popped vs. unpopped kernels. He spent the first weekend in October popping and counting LOTS of popcorn, nine bags to be exact. Caden hypothesized that Pop Secret would be the best, but it turned out Act II is the popcorn to buy.

Tons of time and effort went into this project...Proud of Caden's work! |
We went to the Island Bay Halloween Party with Nana and Papa.

Later that evening, Curt and the boys carved our jack-o-lantern. This year, it was Ultron, an Avengers' villain.

Kieran was inspired by the deck project. Fortunately for Kieran, his worksite was warm and dry unlike the one outside that day.
Next stop, Disney World!
