We finished out summer strong with lots of fun activities.
The boys had fun at a Moms Group outing to Ergadoozy, a local indoor play place.

Caden had the honor of speaking about the Creating Superheroes program at the July school board meeting. Creating Superheroes was a one-week pilot program for fourth grade boys at Caden's elementary school last May. It has been picked up for a second year and expanded to the other district elementary schools and fifth grade. Creating Superheroes is a leadership program developed by a high school student, his mother who is a fourth grade teacher, and a P.E. teacher. The program's purpose it to teach boys how to become better leaders and better people through physical activity, team-building exercises, and education. Caden loved participating last May. More recently, he was able to be a helper at his former elementary school's session at the beginning of November. He is looking forward to the next session at GIS in the spring. To say I am excited about this program is an understatement!

Aunt Mariah spent a few days with us at the beginning of August.

Foosball competition |
We had to drop off a few items at the local consignment shop. This is what the boys decided to do while we were there. Goofs!
We introduced Aunt Mariah to all the fun that Scheels has to offer.

Cole wanted to ride alone. |

Kieran's first trip on the Scheels ferris wheel. Caden wanted to ride alone too. |
Cole's baseball team participated in the State Fair tournament. They played three games that day. We were so lucky that it wasn't a hot weekend. Unfortunately, it was not a winning day for them. It was the first tournament for this team, and they played against teams who traveled to tournaments over the summer. We were proud of their effort!

We spent a day at Knights Action Park with the Wynn family. Curt was off work and joined us too.

We went to see Shrek the Musical at The Muni with Nana, Papa, and Great Grandma Pat. Unfortunately, the show was stopped shortly after intermission due to an approaching storm.

Cole--Looks like it's going to be a belly flop! |
Caden moved to Glenwood Intermediate School for fifth grade. I wasn't ready for that change, but he has adjusted well.

Practicing his locker combination before the first day of school |
Kieran wanted to work on his schoolwork after his brothers left for the first day of school.
After an afternoon of swimming with friends at Island Bay, Kieran was wiped out.
|
He could not make it out of the bathroom. |

Woke up to change clothes and move to the chair for more napping |
The boys and I participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge for an ALS fundraiser. Thank goodness it was super hot outside because that water was COLD!
