San Diego Day 3

We returned to Legoland for another full day of fun. We expected it to rain, but the threatening clouds disappeared without a drop of rain and the sun shined all day. The prediction for rain on Saturday must have scared everyone off because it was even less crowded than Friday. We repeated all of our favorite activities and added some new ones.

With the even lighter crowds, Caden was able to have a turn on the bicycle water sprayer.

Dino Island was open on this day. Cole IS riding Coastersaurus with Curt, but the leaves are blocking his head.

Caden's turn for Coastersaurus with Curt. Pregnant ladies were not allowed on this ride and several others.

Caden enjoyed digging for dinosaur bones.

Cole had fun playing in the dinosaur dig too.

The guys on the Sky Cruiser

While Cole practice his driving skills at the Junior Driving School, Caden pretended he was already 6 years old and tried out the older Driving School. It was a longer course with traffic signs and lights.

Since this driving experience, Caden has been super interested in the rules of the road. I'm NOT at all ready to be the parent of a driver. Good thing we have 10 more years!

The boys with ANOTHER Lego creation

With the temps in the 60's, we avoided most of the water rides. The guys decided to brave Treasure Falls.

Hoping not to get too wet...

Up they go, and they were lucky!

One last ride on Beetle Bounce before saying good-bye to Legoland

Another super fun day at Legoland!

San Diego Day 2

We spent the second day at Legoland. We opened the park at 10:00 and stayed until closing time at 5:00. We had a fantastic time! Caden loves Legos (as most everyone knows), so he was amazed by the Lego creations. Both of the boys (well, actually ALL of the boys) love rides. Caden and Cole are at great age for this park. I think Caden could ride anything he wanted to, and Cole had to sit out on only a few rides.

Starting the day...

Just like on our trip to Disney World in fall 2008, we were blessed with very short (if any) lines at Legoland. Our first ride of the day was Safari Trek.

Cole "drove" Daddy on the safari.

The Dino Island area was closed on this day for maintenance. The boys posed with a Lego dinosaur.

The boys loved this water fountain! It played music, and each instrument sprayed water when someone jumped on the right pad.

Cole enjoyed the houses, slides, and vehicles in Duplo Playtown while Curt and Caden rode the Sky Cruiser.

ROAR!

Caden and Cole earned their junior drivers' licenses at the Volvo Junior Driving School. It was quite comical watching the 3-year-olds crash into the walls over and over. Caden was a pro and passed everyone.

Kelly and Cole on Sky Patrol...up and down, up and down...

Cole flying Curt around on Flight Squadron

One of the boys' favorite rides was Captain Cranky's Challenge. The large boat went up and down and spun around.

The boys spent a lot of time on the Dune Raiders slides.

Another one of the boys' favorite rides was Beetle Bounce.

Going up and down again and again brought lots of laughs!

Imitating Egyptians while waiting in line for the Lost Kingdom Adventure. For those of you who have been to Disney World, think Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin with an Indiana Jones feel.

Criminals!

The Lego creations were extremely impressive! Here are a few photos from Miniland USA.

Such a FUN day! The boys were already excited to return the next day.

San Diego Day 1

About two weeks ago, we spent five days in the San Diego area. We stayed in Carlsbad because this trip was considered our Legoland vacation. Our hotel was within a five-minute walk to Legoland. We also made time to visit the beach and Sea World. It was a wonderful getaway for our family! The temperatures were in the 60's during the day, which was a great improvement from the 20-30's back home. With the sun shining, the weather was wonderful!

We arrived in San Diego in the late morning. After leaving the airport, getting the rental car, and enjoying lunch at In-n-Out Burger, we spent the first day at our hotel's splash park and a beach. The boys had a lot of fun at the splash park despite the cool temperature.

The boys left the splash park shivering. After warming up, we took a drive to a beach. The boys had never been to an ocean, so they were very excited. If the temperature had been a little warmer, I think the boys would have played in the waves and sand all day.

Excuse my hair! It was a little breezy!

Signs were posted warning people not to get near these brown pelicans.

Waiting for the waves to freeze our feet

Brrrr! The water was very cool!

After dinner at the hotel's brewery, everyone crashed. We were exhausted from our travels and the 3-hour time difference and excited about the next day at Legoland.
