End of Summer Fun

We packed a lot of fun into the last three weeks of summer.

Curt got out our little bounce house for the boys one afternoon of his vacation.

Caden attended his first fishing clinic at Washington Park with a friend at the end of July. The friend's nanny sent me this photo of Caden with one of his many fish. He had a lucky morning and a great time.

Following Kieran's birthday celebration, Cole had a birthday party to go to at Island Bay. We all tagged along even though it was a very cool summer day and none of us braved the water.

Cole and Gavin had too much fun to mind the cold air.

We had a fun summer at Island Bay Yacht Club.

Caden and Saurya enjoyed the fishing clinic so much the first time that they wanted to go again. This time, Cole and Kieran gave fishing a try.

Cole caught...a leaf.

The fishing instructor (because I know NOTHING about fishing) helped Kieran catch this little fish.

At the beginning of August, Nana and Papa asked if they could borrow the boys for a couple days.  Sure!
Kieran enjoyed having the baby pool to himself.

Caden was able to meet one of his favorite authors, Tom Angleberger at the local Barnes & Noble. My friend, Michelle took Caden and her son, Noah. Sounds like it was a fun event!

The weekend before school started, Cole hosted his first sleepover. His best buddy, Gavin spent the night. If Cole and Gavin had their way, sleepovers would happen every weekend at each others' houses.

Kieran's 3rd Birthday

My three boys have been keeping me so busy that I'm super behind on photos.  I'm attempting to catch up before Christmas.

Kieran turned 3 on July 26th!  Hard to believe the baby is no longer really a baby.  He sleeps in a big boy bed, wears undies, goes to school, expresses himself quite well, and at least tries to do what the bigger boys do.  Kieran's first three years went by incredibly fast!

Checking out his presents on the morning of his birthday
It's not a birthday without a trip to Chuck E. Cheese's...
So happy!

Extreme concentration
After our trip to Chuck E. Cheese's, we came home to open presents.  This is about the time that I realized my crummy feeling was due to a fever.  A couple days later, the doctor and nurse in the family decided I had strep throat.  I was thankful that we decided to keep Kieran's birthday celebration small with just Nana, Papa, Grammy, and Aunt Mariah.  I was not up for entertaining or spreading the illness.
New reads for another lover of books

Kieran had been visiting this blue Power Ranger at Meijer weekly for quite some time.

Argh!
We celebrated with birthday cupcakes for just the five of us.

Nana and Papa arrived later that night with birthday greetings and presents.

The next day, Grammy and Aunt Mariah joined us for more birthday festivities.

We enjoyed the low-key party and nice (cooler than usual) weather.
Kieran is ready to follow in his brothers' footsteps.

We LOVE this boy and feel blessed to have him in our lives!  Kieran is sweet, smart, and funny.  He can be sensitive and shy at times.  He is the perfect #3 for our family!
