July (post-4th, pre-vacation)

Another busy couple weeks of summer...

Caden and Cole attended LLCC's College for Kids four-morning program the week of July 7th. After the first session, we met friends/fellow CFK attendees at Knights Action Park.

Kieran took another week of swim lessons while his brothers were at College for Kids. He made a lot of progress, swimming short distances on his own and going down the slide.

Pop volcano fun at Island Bay

Cole participated in a three-session Tae Kwon Do camp and really enjoyed it. We will likely enroll him once soccer is over.

Cole's buddy, Henry visited us for the day. He moved to Glen Carbon at the end of the school year. He spent the day with us while his mom was at work in Springfield. Henry went to the park with us.

Later in the day, we took Henry to Island Bay.

Buddies! Cole is going to miss Henry so much.
They took a break from swimming for a game of tetherball.

Caden participated in the water gun fight at the club.

4th of July Weekend

We spent 4th of July afternoon at Island Bay Yacht Club--swimming, playing games, and snacking.

Caden ready for a race

After a full afternoon at the pool, we sent Curt off to work an overnight shift and waited for Nana and Papa to arrive in time for fireworks.

The next day, we visited Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis for the first time. Curt stayed home to sleep after working overnight. We were long overdue for a visit. We had heard wonderful things. The summer-long Lego display prompted us to make the visit. So glad we did! It was a fantastic day!

The Lego sculptures were very cool. Such talent! After lunch, we spent a couple hours in the impressive children's garden.
Lots of climbing ladders and slides
Making rivers and dams

The boys cooled off at the splash pad.

This photo was taken right before Cole was stung by the largest bee I've ever seen. Thankfully, he was fine, but his fear of bees and wasps has increased drastically.

Cracks me up!

Everyone enjoyed the day! We will be back.
