Our October

No more cross country, no more soccer...just a month full of Fall fun!

Cole attended The Mane Event, a fundraiser for Refuge Ranch, with his friend, Drake. Cole and Drake had a great time!

Our church showed the documentary, Screenagers about excess screen time. Caden and I attended. It was a thought-provoking documentary. Caden did not know how it applied to him. ???

Kieran's kindergarten field trip to Pumpkin Creek Farms
On the hayride...I love that Kieran is still so happy to have his mom around.

Learning about the life cycle of the pumpkin

Pointing out good pumpkins

Cider and donut treat

Playing in the corn bin

Kieran loved feeding the goats.

Trying out the different swings

The facial expressions in this photo crack me up. Intense duck races!

The hay bale area is a favorite.

It was a fun field trip! I wasn't sure the weather was going to cooperate. It sprinkled on us when we first arrived, but it cleared off quickly and turned into a beautiful day. Kieran had fun and was excited to come home early with me.

Caden refused to acknowledge his family as he passed. Looks like he is having a fun time with his friends though.

The vacuuming experience at my house...Rey hides. Jovie follows me and rolls around where I just vacuumed, so it looks like I've done nothing.

We made it through the corn maze in Auburn.

Nana and Papa joined us.
Kieran was happily surprised to find his friend, Jershon in the corn maze.

On Columbus Day, we went to Pumpkin Creek Farms. It's our favorite pumpkin patch. There's so much to do. We always have a fun time.

Found lots of corn kernels in the washer and dryer after this trip.

Curt was golfing with friends in Vermont, so he missed the photo opp.

Caden and friends participated in a trivia night at the library. It was hosted by some of the middle school teachers. Some teachers gave extra credit for participation and even more for themed costumes.

One of the grandparents snuck a photo.

2nd place finishers! (out of 12 teams) Ryan, Jacob, Caden, Amar, Tyler, Noah, & Sterling

One of my favorite Springfield events is Jack-o-Lantern Spectacular.

Pumpkin carving time
Cole carved his own pumpkin with very little help this year.

Caden

Kieran scooped but did not carve.

Goofball!

The boys with their jack-o-lanterns (Curt carved the Lego head for Kieran.)

The kindergarteners had to decorate a pumpkin to match a favorite book or movie character. Kieran chose The Ninjabread Man.

Classroom Fall parties...I organized the kindergarten party. I was able to attend the end of Cole's party, but I did not get any good photos.

Our trick-or-treating group...Caden trick-or-treated in a friend's neighborhood.

It was a perfect evening for walking around Piper Glen. We haven't had good weather on Halloween for a while. It was a nice change. We trick-or-treated around one side of our neighborhood, and then went back to our neighbor's house for candy swapping, food, and a bonfire before stopping at a few more houses.
