Our April

April, another full month...That's the only way months are now.

Kieran was super excited to start his tball season.

Big news! We purchased a getaway home (not too far away) with our friends. The property has woods for hiking and hunting and a couple ponds for fishing. It's beautiful and so peaceful! We're looking forward to spending a lot of time here.

This spring, Caden participated in track again. His usual events were long jump, 100m, and 200m. He also tried high jump and a 4x100 relay.

Over Easter weekend, we took family to "the farm" for a visit.

After our farm visit, we dyed Easter eggs.

GES Volunteer Tea--Cole's class gave a reader's theater performance involving Greek mythology for the volunteers.
Cole was one of the few who memorized his lines. He did a great job!

In March, I started substitute teaching at the elementary school occasionally. There is a sub shortage and I am often at the school anyway, so I renewed my license and decided to help out.
Kieran's teacher for the day...So fun to sub in his classroom!

The Athletic Boosters put on a color run. It ended up being an extremely cold and windy Saturday morning. Originally, Caden and his friends were going to run the 5K, but the weather changed their minds.

Cole and I were supposed to run the mile together, but he kept up with his brother and left me in the dust.

Next big April event...Caden's Confirmation Day
Caden and Nathaniel have been in Sunday School together since they were two years old.

The confirmation class ran the service and put on a skit telling the story of the Good Samaritan.
Caden had to speak in front of the congregation several times during the three months of confirmation class. He handled this task so well.

During the skit, Caden played the part of the injured one.

He got some laughs, especially from his brothers.

During the confirmation service, Pastor Kent said some amazing and heartfelt comments about each of the confirmands. He really got to know these five kids during confirmation class. It meant a lot to hear what he had to say about Caden.

Proud of Caden
We spent a beautiful afternoon fishing at the farm.

Right before we went on our cruise, Jovie got sick and required medicine twice a day. We hid Jovie's medicine in treats and also gave Rey a treat, so she didn't feel left out. Rey got very used to nightly treats. Here she is begging for her bedtime treat at the wrong time of the day. I guess she thought it was worth a try.

Every spring, the middle school puts on a triathlon (bike, roll, run) and backyard bash with food and games. Unfortunately, it was another cool April day. The volunteers froze, but the kids were fine.
