Our May

May means tball, baseball, and end-of-school events.

Rey, my constant companion
Trying to eat lunch with a cat on my lap

It's only 8:20 in the morning in this photo. Rey thought she'd try to get a bedtime treat since I walked into the kitchen.

Fourth graders at GES learn how to play the recorder. Cole and his classmates put on a concert to show off their skills.
Cole and Bailey played a duet.

Rey and Jovie making themselves comfy in Caden's bed. The cats are Caden's go-to excuse for not making his bed.

Curt and I saw Tears for Fears and Hall & Oates in concert. Our seats were great, and the music was too.

Another beautiful day at the farm...This time, Curt took us around the property on the UTV.

The ballfield is one of Kieran's favorite places to be. Skill-wise, he is very ready for coach-pitch baseball, but he didn't mind playing tball for another season. He was just happy to be on the ballfield. He was very focused and gave his full effort at every game.
Playing first base...In tball, this is where most of the action is.

Kieran has a great swing and can really hit the ball.

With his buddy, Emmie

Caden's spring band concert...I say this after every concert, but I am always impressed with how much improvement the band makes between concerts. Caden had a solo and did a fantastic job!

Caden is in the back between a tall girl and tall boy. :/

In the middle of May, GES held College & Career Week with different dress-up days and special activities and speakers throughout the week. Curt even spoke to Kieran's kindergarten class about interventional radiology.

Dream jobs--surgeon and chef

I bought caves for the cats. Rey adopted both right away. When Rey finally let Jovie have a turn, she had to supervise.

Kieran and I hung out at Panther Creek's playground while Curt and the big boys hit balls at the driving range.

Kieran took off on two wheels!

Caden was inducted into National Junior Beta Club, an organization that promotes achievement, character, leadership, and service. He was selected based on his grades, class performance, and teacher recommendation. During his 8th grade year, Caden will have to complete a certain number of service hours.

So proud of Caden's achievement!

GES Kindergarten Spring Program...The six kindergarten classes performed four songs together, and each of the classes sang their own song. Kieran's class sang "Fairy Tale Song." We had front row seats to the fun show. The kindergarteners worked so hard on memorizing the songs and movements. Kieran sang his heart out and knew the moves. Loved it!

This is not a good photo of Kieran's buddy, Shane, but it's a good one of Kieran.

Celebrating with ice cream, of course

The fourth graders put on a State Fair, showcasing all they learned about the USA this school year. Cole selected Kansas. He worked with classmates, Asher and Sofia to research Kansas and put together this poster. What I loved most about this project...It was fully completed at school. Parent assistance was not allowed OR needed. They did an awesome job on their Kansas poster! With fidget spinners being all the rage, they decided to include a raffle for a free fidget spinner to encourage more viewers at their booth. Has nothing to do with Kansas, but it worked!

GMS Award Ceremony...Caden was honored as one of the Titans of the Month for the school year. Out of over 700 students, teachers nominate two seventh graders and two eighth graders for Titan of the Month each month. We're so proud of Caden for receiving this honor!
Unfortunately, I didn't get any good photos.

Kieran's end-of-the-year party was a luau. They played musical surfboards, made flower leis, played hula hoop games, limboed, and enjoyed some cookies. Kindergarten is such a fun year! We're sad it is over.

The last day of the school year...It was another awesome school year! The boys were blessed with great teachers, fun friends, and lots of learning.

Cole's last ride on bus 45
On the last day, the kindergarten classes enjoyed Field Day. They rotated through game stations outside. Thankfully, the weather was beautiful!

Cole's last day at GES...They had fun in a photo booth, competed in relay races outside, signed keepsake t-shirts for each other, and ate popsicles.
Cole with the fantastic Mrs. Day...I could not have asked for a better fit for Cole. Such a blessing! Luckily for us, she's moving to 6th grade, so Cole might have the chance to learn more from her in the future.

I helped run Cole's last classroom party ever. :(

2025 will come too quickly. I'm sure!

So will 2029!

Yes, Kieran has his eyes closed. I had already promised the boys "no more pictures" when I decided to snap a last one in front of GES. At least, it's a good one of Cole. He moves on to GIS for 5th grade.

GMS Bands had the opportunity to travel to Six Flags in St. Louis to march in a parade and have a day of fun. Caden had a blast!
Excited!

The other boys and I were not able to go along because Cole had a birthday party to attend and Curt was at work. A friend of mine snapped a photo while the band waited for the parade to start.

While Caden was at Six Flags, we went to the newest Wimpy Kid movie--the first of our summer movies.

On Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, we spent the day at the farm. Nana, Papa, and the boys tried out the new paddleboat.

Cole caught a fish!

Jovie decided the shower was a nice place to rest, so I had to wait my turn.

Another tball game, another great hit by Kieran

We survived the whirlwind of May!
